The placemaking project "På Sergels torg" is a collaboration between the City of Stockholm, local property owners, trade, industry, and civil society. The aim is to revitalize and co-create Sergels torg, an iconic central plaza, into a public space where people can share cultural experiences. Free for all and created by many.

Welcome to explore bobbin lace-making at Sergels torg together with artist Ulrika Mårtensson Hanje. Participants will get hands-on experience with bobbin lace-making and have the opportunity to create a simple lace pattern that spreads out and winds its way across the square. This is a drop-in workshop is open to all ages and anyone interested.

The exhibition presents works by graduating students from the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Textile Design at The Swedish School of Textiles. Featured here are degree projects marking the completion of years of study and, simultaneously, the start of new directions in contemporary textile design. The projects span a broad spectrum within textile design, including acoustic textiles and bioplastic materials, as well as narrative-focused projects featuring printed patterns, wallpapers, and textile artifacts serving as carriers of culture and identity.

The installation "Det överblommade tornet" (The Overblown Tower) by textile artist Emma Hasselblad rises like a bouquet in the heart of the city – an eleven-meter-tall flower stem where hand-knitted blossoms extend into side branches, spreading out. Here, bud, bloom, and wilting petals coexist within the very same body. Time is not linear but compressed; the intensity of full bloom and the inevitability of decay exist simultaneously.
