Lauranne Chapelle-Barry

Lauranne's passion for marquetry started during her exam project at HDK. There she took on learning the traditional techniques before taking a more experimental approach. In her contemporary technique, the boundary between art and craft is blurred. The traditional craft is applied to undulated surfaces and mixed with embroidery, pearls ornaments, etc. Her aim is to later implement her findings on furniture, to bring back tactility, poetry, as well as a sense of quiet luxury into our daily life.
