Lauranne Chapelle-Barry

The interest in marquetry began during her graduation project in furniture design at HDK-Valand. Lauranne Chapelle-Barry learned the traditional techniques before moving on to a more experimental approach where the line between art and craft is blurred. The undulated wooden surfaces of her work are tactile and sometimes combined with embroidery, beadwork, or other embellishments.
