Kapsylen & CAP Gallery

Kapsylen Ateljéer is part of the creative work collective Kapsylen. The building on Södermalm contains some fifty studios for artists, ceramicists, textile artists, designers, graphic designers, architects, musicians, filmmakers and more. 

CAP Gallery is a meeting place for art, culture, and creative expression. Through exhibitions, performing arts, and dialogue, we facilitate encounters between established creators, emerging talents, and audiences from every corner of the city.

Morphing

In this exhibition, three artists come together in a shared exploration of form, material, and movement, where change and evolution serve as the core driving force. Grounded in a mutual fascination with the world of insects and rooted in their respective materials – wood, paper, and textiles – they draw inspiration from each other's previous works to create new pieces. The works, both older and newer, engage in dialogue with one another, giving rise to shifts, reshapes, and transformations where that which once was takes on new forms.

Öppna ateljéer

Five of Kapsylen's artisans are opening up their studios to talk about their artistic process, material choices and how their works come to life. During Friday's opening, the pub in Kalypso will be open, and on Saturday and Sunday, a pop-up cafe will be hosted in the same space, offering room for conversation and artist talks.

Bug life – en workshop i papperskonst

This workshop is a quiet exercise in looking closely at the often-overlooked details of the natural world. Participant get to explore the delicate forms and intricate structures of insects through paper cutting. They will observe the shapes, patterns, and details of small creatures, then transform them into paper silhouettes through a process of cutting, layering, and assembling. The workshop is held on site and led by bookbinder and paper artist Phantipa “Kay” Thanchookiet, who is joining remotely from her studio in Bangkok.
