Best Before Collective is an artist-run non-profit organization that showcases contemporary art in public spaces. Through an exhibition vitrine at the Hornstull subway station, they facilitate encounters between art and passersby, with a focus on accessibility and new perspectives. The collective also initiates artistic projects in various other contexts.

In Best Before Collective’s subway gallery, passersby are invited to pause amidst the daily rush and contemplate the subtle things we rarely think about, yet depend on to keep everything running. Featured in the display case, Taiwanese craft artist Mu-Se Kou presents a series of ceramic sculptures titled Biggest Little Things. Her work draws inspiration from global and regional tensions, where everyday objects such as band-aids, matches, and canned goods symbolize both vulnerability and preparedness.
