The weaving collective Studio Supersju was founded in 2016 by six independent weavers: Siri Pettersson, Ia Centerhall, Miriam Parkman, Vega Määttä Siltberg, Mirjam Hemström and Arianna E. Funk. Through exhibitions and public commissions they strive to bring weaving and textile art into a new era. They currently work from three studios in Stockholm and Skåne

In the summer of 2023, a new comissioned art work – a nearly five meter long tapestry created by Studio Supersju – was installed permanently in the Stockholm City Hall. The six members of the weaving group had then worked on the piece for over a year. Are you curious about the process of a public commission? Or how six people can collaborate on one collective piece? Have you seen the tapestry and wonder how it's made? Welcome to the Hägerstensåsens Medborgarhus. Welcome to an artist talk about the project. See sketches and samples, hear about and their collaborative methods along with pictures taken by photographer Ylva Sundgren - who followed the process. After the artist talk there will be a workshop. (see separate event).
