The Swedish Weaving Academy was founded in 2017 and aims to promote and work for the practical and theoretical work of professional practitioners in the field of weaving in Sweden. By arranging exhibitions, symposiums and lectures, the Swedish Weaving Academy creates meeting places and discussions around different perspectives on weaving. And thereby contributes to highlighting the role and importance of weaving in society, both historically and in the present.

In a seminar with the aim of showcasing the breadth of weaving in a contemporary context, four artist talks will be held with artists and craftspeople in the textile field. The practitioners, who have different perspectives on weaving, will talk about their respective projects and show a selection of textiles from them. The seminar will also be live-streamed.
