Founded in 1951 Konsthantverkarna is Sweden's largest association for contemporary crafts and represents nearly one hundred artisans working in various materials and techniques: ceramics, glass, metal, jewellery art, wood, textiles and paper. The gallery arrange solo or group exhibitions with both members or invited Swedish and international guest exhibitors.

Welcome to the opening of Stockholm Craft Week 2024. This is the sixth event in its series, and this year it will be inaugurated by Kakan Hermansson at the Studio in Kulturhuset Stadsteatern. During the evening, this year's Craft Prize will be awarded by the main organizers of Stockholm Craft Week.

During the opening of Stockholm Craft Week 2024, the Craft Prize will be awarded at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm. The winner of the award will receive a prize sum of 20,000 SEK and a solo exhibition at Konsthantverkarna Stockholm. This year, the Craft Prize will be awarded by the main organizers of Stockholm Craft Week: Konsthantverkarna, Svensk Form, and Konsthantverkscentrum.

Craft artist Per Brandstedt has worked with wood for over 40 years and is one of our foremost experts in the material. He creates both utilitarian objects and public artworks, and conducts workshops and performances together with the woodworking group Surprise Laboratory International. Brandestedt's work is represented in a large number of regions and museums, both in Sweden and internationally. In the exhibition at Konsthantverkarna he will show some large objects in black-burnt and stained oak.

In the window exhibition "Andas, Breathe, Silence" jewelry artist Mie Bornhall showcases new works in various forms, materials, and scales. The pieces in the exhibition can either be worn on the body or be part of a spatial arrangement. Marie-Helene Bornhall is educated at Konstfack, University of Arts Crafts & Design, and is active in Stockholm. Preview on Friday 4 October. The exhibition runs from 5–15 October.
