Kaolin

Kaolin is a craft cooperative that runs a shop and gallery in central Stockholm. Founded 1978 by a group of professional ceramic artists, Kaolin now has twenty members who produce both utility items and art pieces for sale in the shop. The gallery presents pioneering exhibitions by Swedish as well as invited artists from other countries. In its role as a leading centre for ceramic art, Kaolin also runs a programme of lectures and discussions on related issues.

Artist Walk • Hedvig Hammarberg

On Friday 2 October, Kaolin, Blås & Knåda and Konsthantverkarna invite you to a joint Artist Walk, starting at Kaolin at 4.30 pm. The Artist Walk offers a first glimpse of the exhibitions opening on Saturday. At Kaolin, you will meet Hedvig Hammarberg, exhibiting in the gallery with "Causalities", and the japanese artist Erina Nishioka, presenting Colour and Form for Everyday Life in the project space. Here, the artists will preview their exhibitions and share insights into their artistic practices.

Kausaliteter

In the gallery, a collection of vessel forms and wall sculptures is presented in the solo exhibition "Kausaliteter" (Causality) by Gothenburg-based ceramicist Hedvig Hammarberg. Her work finds its inspiration in the urban environment, spanning from sculptural to functional objects.

Colour and Form for Everyday Life

In Kaolin’s Project Room, Japanese artist Erina Nishioka presents her exhibition "Colour and Form for Everyday Life". Based in Tamba Sasayama, Japan,  Erina primarily works with the hand-building technique tebineri. Nishioka’s ceramics are characterized by vibrant colors, organic shapes, and unique, brush-painted surfaces. Each piece is painted individually, giving it a unique, sculptural character that brings colour into everyday life.
