Hällzon + Björke

As craft artists and jewelry makers, Catarina Hällzon and Lisa Björke explore historical, traditional craft techniques to create a contemporary expression. By weaving metal strips, Hällzon elevates birch bark craft to a new level, while Björke transforms belt buckles and leaf clasps through playful use of scale and material. Both aim to create a dialogue between past and present, where tradition meets innovation and the familiar takes on a new, unexpected form.

Hantverk i förvandling

Catarina Hällzon and Lisa Björke explore the boundaries of craft through tradition and innovation. With roots in historical techniques, they transform materials and forms into contemporary art. Catarina works with birch bark weaving in metal to highlight the value of craftsmanship and create a dialogue between history and the present. Lisa reimagines traditional brooches and leaf clasps, playing with scale and materials, blurring the line between jewelry and sculpture. In this exhibition, two artistic practices meet—both breathing new life into traditions. A compelling balance emerges between preservation and transformation, where the familiar takes on a new and unexpected form.
