Gustavsbergs Porslinsmuseum

The Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum is a part of Nationalmuseum. A cornerstone in the museum's operations is the extensive Gustavsberg Collection which contains more than 45 000 pieces, ranging from studio-made ornaments and display vases to familiar tableware and heritage sanitary ware to enamel and plastic artefacts – all produced at the Gustavsberg workshop from 1825 until 1993 when the factory closed.

Teamwork Claywork

The Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum is hosting a pop-up event with a workshop and bar at the Nationalmuseum. During one evening, the studio transforms into a ceramics factory where workshop participants are welcome to build ornate urns together, using clay. In addition to the collaborative creation, you will learn more about different ceramic techniques. The decorations which are created this evening will become contemporary comments on 19th century ornate urns. The large ornate urns were popular during the 19th century and were manufactured to showcase the craftsmanship of the factories. The workshop is led by Joanna Günther and Sara Borgegård Älgå, both professionell craft artists.
