Fanny Ollas

Fanny Ollas works in the borderland between ceramics, textiles, crafts and sculpture. She explores the relationship between humans and everyday objects by giving the objects human features and emotions. With a playful aesthetic, she deals with themes such as identity, demands, status and desire. By combining ceramics and textiles, she connects fashion, the body and crafts, often using the vase as a symbol of humans and their history.

Showpiece

Fanny Ollas has a background in fashion and has in recent years been experimenting with how ceramics and textiles can intersect. For the exhibition, she will create, among other pieces, a site-specific installation in the window display of the gallery at Kungstensgatan 27. The inspiration for the work is drawn from the showpiece vases created for the World Fairs of the late 19th century. Ollas examines how these historical status symbols can be translated into today's society.
