Karin Bengtson shares the process behind her exhibition "Att stilla sig" where inspiration from Paul Klee and A Dictionary of Color Combinations meets sheet metal-like forms and textile patterns in ceramics. Sophia Wallgren presents her exhibition Imitation, where she combines ceramics and textiles for the first time. She explores imitation, chance, and limitations – and how thinking in one material while working with another shapes the final expression.

In this exhibition, inspired by Paul Klee’s art and A Dictionary of Color Combinations, colors and ceramic forms are explored. Color fields intersect on rectangular boxes and trays and pots carry vegetation inspired by Japanese aesthetics. Here, both the minimalist and the organic are given space to unfold. "I like metal and textiles and work with clay. Maybe that’s why things have turned out the way they have – metallic forms and textile patterns. But what really matters is the process. Rolling out the clay and assembling, joining corners, curling edges, smoothing surfaces, and letting the rasp leave its delicate marks. That’s what I enjoy".

Sophia Wallgren usually works with the materials ceramics and textiles separately, this is the first time she has brought them together. The exhibition "Imitation" is the result of a project in which she tried to develop new ways of working by thinking about one material and working with another. This has resulted in reliefs and sculptures in embroidery and ceramic hand-building techniques. The project revolves around attempts to imitate a material but is also about navigating random conditions and set limitations through the process.
