This exhibition showcases works from 19 different craft students within the fields of jewelry, ceramics and textiles. The projects were developed during the last year at HDK-Valand Craft and Textile-Body-Space at HDK-Valand Campus Steneby. The title of the exhibition seeks to emphasize the change the materials are put through. They are bent, broken, mended, melted, woven, cut, glued and stitched. At Hägerstenåsens Medborgarhus these objects spread out: over, inside and outside the building to seek new forms, transitions and dialogues.

Flags, Pennants, Banners! Flags are powerful symbols of ideals, movements and aspirations. They are used for celebrations and advertisement but can also be hoisted as a warning or carried in protest or battle. Students from the master craft program at HDK-Valand will teach you to make colorful and personal flags/pennants in textile or paper. Perhaps there will be a parade with the flags made? Or will they billow in the wind along the brick facade of Hägerstensåsens Medborgarhus? No prior knowledge or materials are required to participate. All ages are welcome but small children should be accompanied by an adult.

In the lecture "The Potential of Wrinkles," Åsa Dybwad Norman takes various aspects of Swedish textile labor history and connects it to the potential of textiles as a subversive force – both in social movements and within art. The starting point is the work "Vi är kvar, vi ger inte upp" (We Persist, We Don't Give Up) created in collaboration with colleague Frida Hållander in 2022. Åsa Dybwad Norman is a textile artist and lecturer in textile art at HDK-Valand, educated at HDK-Valand Steneby and Konstfack. Dybwad Norman's work primarily revolves around how various women's organizations and formations have socially and politically evolved throughout history, as well as in the present. She often engages in collaborative projects, and in recent years, she has had a close collaboration with the craftsman Frida Hållander.
