Sedan examen år 2000 har Auli Laitinen arbetat med smyckekonst genom att ställa ut egna arbeten, kuratera konsthantverk och undervisa. Med fokus på textil och metall utforskar hon material och objekt som meningsbärare. Laitinen ser utsmyckandet av den mänskliga kroppen i en kritisk kontext som reflekterar samtiden.

Utställningen bjuder in till reflektion av människors yttre uttryck i det offentliga rummet. Accessoarer och smycken ses här som "yttre lager" – kulturella och personliga markörer som både formar och visar upp vår identitet. Genom att ibland arbeta med generativ AI i Photoshop prövas hur teknologin tolkar och reproducerar dessa lager, och vilka föreställningar som därigenom blir synliga. Utställningen lyfter smycket som ett samtida konstobjekt om fri vilja, självbild och den visuella kulturens påverkan.
