The Stockholm Crafts Association was founded in 1847 as a manifestation of the importance of crafts in contemporary society. The association's work is a living platform for skilled craftsmen who contribute to sustainable production, quality and beauty. Over 300 different types of professions are gathered here, and in the association's school, the Handicrafts Academy, training is provided in about 80 different craft areas.
